Applications for the Educator Preparation Program/Field Residency 1, Field Residency 2, and Clinical Teaching for Spring 2020 are currently closed. They will open again in February for the Fall 2020 semester.

EPP Admission Application - Students already accepted to Educator Preparation Program do not need to reapply for admission. Important: Effective Fall 2015 semester, all teacher candidates must be accepted in the teacher program in order to progress to Field Residency 2. Please work closely with your advisor to ensure successful completion of all requirements for acceptance to EPP program
Orientations and Seminars - Students must attend an orientation at the beginning of the semester to get the necessary paperwork, information, due dates and expectations. Students must participate in all seminars during field residency and clinical teaching. Please see the EPP Calendar for dates.
EPP/FR 1, FR 2 and CT: Applications for the fall semester are due in February and applications for the spring semester are due in September.

If required documentation is missing, application will become invalid and student must reapply the next scheduled application cycle in order to be reconsidered.
Graduate Teacher Certification Program
GTCP Clinical Teachers and Interns must be fully admitted to GTCP program, completed 45 hours of field experience observations and have passed their TExES content state exam(s). The TExES PPR EC-12 may be completed during clinical teaching/internship. ALL GTCP students wanting to complete Observation Hours or Clinical Teaching MUST apply using the link above.

By signing required Clinical Teaching checklist and application or internship form, student agrees that all documents required have been submitted. If required documentation is missing, clinical teaching application or internship form will become invalid and will cause a loss in school placement.
Select your preferred internship pathway and complete the required documentation.
Clinical Teaching Internship (unpaid – program fee $500) – Requires 16 consecutive weeks in the classroom of a certified teacher (mentor teacher), helping the teacher and gradually taking responsibilities for teaching the class. Placements will be coordinated by the Educator Preparation Program staff. Clinical teaching assignments begin in Fall or Spring Semester of each school year.
Print, complete and submit Clinical Teaching Checklist and Clinical Teaching Application to EPP Office, Main Campus, Frank Madla Building, Room 212. Attach all documentation listed on checklist and application. Applications without documentation will not be accepted.
- GTCP Field Experience Application
GTCP students in need of 45 Hours of observations will need to complete and submit the GTCP Observation Application. All students applying must bring in documentation of previous observation hours if applicable. Applications are available in September and February for the following semester.
Disclaimer: The Educator Preparation Program cannot guarantee your placement in the preferred school districts. Once the student is placed in a school, he/she is responsible for fulfilling his/her GTCP Observation responsibilities at the school placement. The student will complete 45 observation hours at the assigned school. Failure to do this will result in student dismissal of GTCP program.
**It is the student's responsibility to contact the EPP office, for a required supervising/coaching session within completing the first 15 hours of observations.
Graduate Teacher Certification Program (GTCP)
Students must apply for TAMU-San Antonio Graduate Admission online at https://www.applytexas.org prior to applying for the graduate certification program (GTCP).
No application deadline for GTCP Application. Interview and writing proficiency assessment will be required.

Note: Students must be admitted to TAMU-San Antonio graduate admission prior to applying for GTCP.
