Dr. Kapavik

Dr. Robin Robinson Kapavik joined the faculty of Texas A&M University-San Antonio in 2006 and is currently and Associate Professor in Curriculum & Instruction. She teaches curriculum courses in both elementary and secondary education. Prior to joining the faculty at TAMU-SA, she taught social studies and language arts for several school districts in Central Texas. Her primary research interests involve social studies education and teacher preparation for the profession.

Dr. Kapavik received her PhD in Curriculum & Instruction from The University of Texas at Austin (2006), her M.S. in Educational Administration from Texas A&M University-College Station (1996), and her B.A. in History and English from The University of Texas at Austin (1994).

At TAMU-SA, Dr. Kapavik has served as the Co-Counselor for Kappa Delta Pi and Program Coordinator for Curriculum & Instruction. Her professional memberships include National Council for the Social Studies, College and University Faculty Assembly, Texas Council for the Social Studies, and the American Educational Research Association.
