The Political Science Program is one of the newest and smallest programs in the College of Arts & Sciences. Despite its nascence and size, the program has already successfully established a rigorous degree plan, an active student organization, and internship opportunities for students.
The Program is holistic by design. Political science majors master content knowledge, skill development, and career awareness in the program. Political science majors and minors study political systems, organizations, and behavior, develop quantitative, qualitative, and analytical skills as well as communication, writing, and presentation skills. The application of these knowledge bases and skills to career fields is emphasized throughout the program and students are expected to acquire practical experience through one of the several internship opportunities.
