Institutional Scholarships

Eligible Students

Students with a university identification number (K or J number) are encouraged to submit a scholarship application. Students that are pending an admission decision may submit a scholarship application. Students must be admitted to Texas A&M University-San Antonio in a degree-seeking program at the time of awarding.

Application

Texas A&M University-San Antonio utilizes a general scholarship application to simplify the application process. Rather than applying to multiple scholarship individually, the Texas A&M University-San Antonio General Scholarship Application considers students for a variety of institutional scholarships for the academic year. Not all institutional scholarships are included in the general scholarship application. Scholarships requiring a separate application will be noted.

Scholarship Application

Award Notifications

Students selected to receive a scholarship will receive an award letter in the mail. Award letters are sent to the official permanent address on file. Students should confirm that the correct address is listed on JagWire.

Scholarship Disbursements

Institutional scholarships are disbursed after Census Date of each semester. Students should make appropriate payment arrangements to ensure that they are not dropped from classes or charged late fees.

Other Important Scholarship Information
    • Submitting a scholarship application and meeting the scholarship criteria does not guarantee an award. Award selections are determined by committee review and the availability of funds.

    • Students must meet all scholarship criteria to receive initial and renewal awards. Receiving a scholarship award letter does not guarantee disbursement. Eligibility will be confirmed prior to disbursement. Awards may be canceled if the student is no longer meeting scholarship criteria.

    • Federal regulation requires that the Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid consider all financial resources when determining eligibility for financial aid.  Receipt of a scholarship may change the composition of a financial aid award, and in some cases, may reduce student loans or tuition grants.

    • Scholarship recipients may be asked to provide a thank you letter, photograph, biography, or requested to attend donor functions. Such requests will be disclosed to scholarship recipients in the award letter.

Students are not limited to applying only to scholarships offered by Texas A&M University-San Antonio. Students should take advantage of all scholarship opportunities including external scholarships.
