On behalf of the JagX staff we want to welcome you to Texas A&M University-San Antonio!

JagX is a MANDATORY program for all freshman and freshman transfer students, the week before the fall and spring semester. JagX is designed to welcome you to Texas A&M-San Antonio and prepare you for a smooth transition by addressing your academic, social and personal needs.

JagX jump starts a student’s transition to college and prepares our new Jaguars for the life-changing experiences that lie ahead. As a key part of the professional journey, JagX contributes to retention efforts by introducing our new undergraduates to university expectations and culture though an emphasis on the professional, intellectual, and life skills that will enable participants to be successful as university students. This week long experience, held prior to first day of class, will allow our students to meet fellow jaguars, interact with faculty and staff, and feel a connection to our university.

Fall 2018 Admitted Students

Fall 2018 JagX will be occurring Monday, August 13th through Friday, August 17th, 2018. Monday-Thursday of the program will run from 8:00am-5:00pm. On Friday, the program will run from 7:00am-2:00pm. Failure to attend JagX in its entirety could impact your ability to enroll for the upcoming semester.

Remember that JagX is REQUIRED so be sure to mark your calendar today!

What are the JagX Studio Sessions?

The Studio Sessions during JagX are designed to support your academic transition from high school to college.  Studio Sessions will introduce you to university-level skills and the expectations you will experience once the semester begins. The goals of the sessions are:

  1. To facilitate development of core math, reading, and writing skill.
  2. To develop your vocabulary for discussing these skills and building on them as they transition into university-level coursework.
  3. To introduce you to resources to help you succeed in college.

During JagX you will receive a light breakfast and lunch every day. If you have any dietary restrictions or accommodations that you did not notify us about when you registered for orientation form please email fye@tamusa.edu with that additional information.

A week before JagX you will receive a reminder email with details about where to check in as well as an attached parking permit for the week.

Students formally requesting an exemption or excused absence from JagX (August 13th -17th, 2018) must complete the JagX Appeal Form before Friday, August 3rd, 2018.

Completed Fall 2018 JagX Appeal forms must be submitted by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, August 3rd, 2018 to the JagX Coordinator. Contact information: ana.flores@tamusa.edu  or (210) 784-1434.
