Tim Gritten currently serves as the Executive Director of the Library and Special Collections, where he has worked since 2018.  He most recently served as the chair of the President’s Commission on Equity.  Previously, he has held leadership positions at Wayne State University, University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, and Indiana State University.  He received his Master of Library Science from Indiana University and his Bachelor of Arts degrees in Anthropology, History, and Classics from the University of Illinois.  He will be happy to engage in debates about the Dewey Decimal System versus the Library of Congress Classification System, multiregional versus recent African origin of modern humans, or Buster Keaton versus Charlie Chaplin.
