The Kinesiology Club at Texas A&M University-San Antonio is a student-run organization that provides volunteer, internship, and mentorship opportunities. We aim to promote the understanding of and involvement in the profession of health, physical education, recreation, dance, and the exercise sciences at Texas A&M University-San Antonio as well as the community. Our mission is to instill the tradition of health and wellness through education and fun physical activities. TACSM |
Every year, students travel to the Texas Chapter of the American College of Sports Medicine, a regional meeting focusing on the promotion and advancement of medical and other scientific knowledge related to sport and exercise. Students participate for professional development, research presentation, and participation in the Student Bowl (an academic competition against all other colleges and universities across Texas). |
TAHPERD |
Students annually travel to the Texas Association of Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance Annual Convention for professional development and research presentations. This organization is committed to developing knowledge and programs that promote active, healthy lifestyles and enhance skilled, aesthetic motor performance in school-aged children. Those majoring in physical education will typically attend. |
Distinguished Scholar

In the Spring of 2025, Carlos Tamayo was awarded the Academic Distinguished Award as the Distinguished Scholar for the Department of Counseling, Kinesiology, and Human Services. In his time at A&M-SA, he has maintained a high GPA, attended four conferences, carried out his own research project that he presented at the 2025 TACSM Annual Meeting, participated in the TACSM Annual Student Bowl academic competition, and held multiple officer positions in the K-Club. |
