How to Sign up for Online NSO

The university has moved first-time freshmen orientation to an online NSO format for fall and summer 2020. 

New Student Orientation is your first major step to becoming a full-fledged Jaguar. In addition to informative sessions that will prepare you for Jaguar life, you will get to register for classes at NSO. 

But first, you must submit your Reading and Writing TSI Complete scores prior to signing up for online NSO, you will be required to submit a Math TSI score before registering for classes during your Academic Advising session. If you have questions about your status, please email the Welcome Center at BeAJaguar.tamusa.edu

Step 1: Log in to your JagWire account.  

Step 2: Click "Orientation SIgn-up" (within the New Student Resource tab). 

Step 3: Fill out the orientation form to sign up for online NSO. 

Step 4: Complete online NSO starting Monday, May 18, 2020. 

Step5: Sign up for your Academic Advising Session and register for classes. 

To further assist students during this time the university has deferred the $75 NSO fee to your first-semester tuition and fee bill.

  • Review self-directed information from various departments and resources on campus
  • Learn more about your major
  • Sign up for your Academic Advising Session 
  • Find out about your next steps to become a successful Jaguar!

A nonrefundable $75 NSO will be deferred to your first-semester tuition and fee when you sign up for online NSO.

JAGX

Saturday, August 15th-Wednesday, August 19th 

JagX jump-starts your transition to college and prepares you for the personal, professional, and career experiences that lie ahead. This week-long experience, held prior to the first day of class, will allow you to meet fellow jaguars, interact with faculty and staff, and feel a connection as a Jaguar.

JagX is mandatory for all, incoming first-year students.

Failure to attend JagX will result in a class registration hold on the student’s account.
