Ernest Cox Jr. was born and raised in San Antonio, TX.  Ernie is a certified school counselor.  He earned his Doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision from the University of Texas at San Antonio, his Master’s degree in Clinical Counseling from Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio, and his Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Queens University of Charlotte North Carolina.  His experience includes serving as an educator, education consultant, high school counselor, as well as leading a suburban school district as the Director of Guidance and Counseling for 8 years. Dr. Cox possesses the ability to speak from experience as an educator, counselor, school counselor, District Director of Guidance and Counseling, and school counseling consultant.  Dr. Cox has been a part of the Texas A&M University - San Antonio family since August 2017 and finds joy in serving as a faculty member in School Counselor Education and working with school counseling graduate students as they develop the foundation and skills necessary to competently serve as professional school counselors.
