On March 22, Southwest Preparatory School-Northwest Campus announced its partnership with A&M-SA for an Early College High School (ECHS) program beginning in fall 2018.
Dr. Melissa Mahan, VP for Student Affairs, participated in the ribbon-cutting ceremony and gave remarks on behalf of the University. "Our goal is not only to see these students earn college credit, but also to put them on the right track to ultimately graduate from college," she said. "We want to create a pipeline of college graduates who are prepared to pursue rewarding careers and become lifelong learners."
Twenty-five select Southwest Preparatory School students will begin taking entry-level courses alongside A&M-SA students in August. These ECHS students can earn up to 60 college credit hours through the ECHS program.
