As the nation prepares to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the September 11 attacks, the Texas A&M University-San Antonio campus will host a series of events to honor the victims, family members, and first responders as we remember the lasting impact of that day on our nation.

On Friday, Sept. 10, a wreath-laying ceremony will commence at 8:30 a.m., followed by a moment of silence. The event takes place at the site of the Survivor Tree, a seedling planted in 2016 to commemorate the Military and Veteran loss of life and ongoing impact of the attacks.

On Saturday, Sept. 11, the Travis Manion Foundation’s 9/11 Heroes Run, which began in 2007, will honor the nation’s first responders who were lost that day and the veterans who have served in wars since. The race has expanded to over 90 communities worldwide with nearly 60,000 participants each year.
