Common Experience
Common Experience helps Jaguars explore a variety of topics, meet new people, and get involved — right from their first year! Each academic year, the Office of First-Year Experience selects a theme that will be used as the inspiration for our events and initiatives. The goal of our events is to build community within our student body as well as encourage learning and professional development.
What does Common Experience mean for first-year students?

This Year’s Theme
Rooted in Community: Moving Together with Purpose
The Common Experience program selected this theme as a reminder to students that regardless of their individual experiences, they are a part of the campus community. This theme acknowledges that each student has a different purpose, but they all move forward to achieve their goals, with the support of the each other and the jaguar community.
This theme will be used in used in all Common Experience Programming. Our goal is that students leave with a new perspective and become more involved on campus.
