As a state agency A&M San Antonio is only allowed to award holidays based on the number of days granted by the state.  This is different every year depending on when holidays actually fall on the calendar.  Those years when the actual designated holidays occur on a weekend date, they do not award those hours.  Staff Council is consulted for feedback on the dates that will be utilized, System offices also offer suggestions and finally Senior Leadership selects the dates to submit to Chancellor for approval.
