Texas Commission on Fire Protection 

The mission of the Texas Commission on Fire Protection (TCFP) is to help protect the lives and property of the citizens of Texas by developing and enforcing professional standards for the fire service which includes certification, training approval and testing, curriculum, and standards compliance.

Texas A&M University-San Antonio Testing Center, in partnership with the TCFP, can administer the some computer based certification exams.  The exams available are listed below.

  1. Register for your TCFP Online Exam through your FIDO Account and receive your Exam Eligibility Form.
  2. Make an appointment to take your exam here.  There is a $25.00 exam fee that you will pay when registering.
  3. Arrive on your scheduled exam day at least 15 minutes early for check-in and have with you a valid, Government/State issued Photo ID and a printed copy your TCFP Exam Eligibility Form.

Exams are offered every Tuesday from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM and every Friday from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM.  You can check for availability through our registration site here.
