Dr. Coulton received his B.A. degree in Psychology (with a minor in Social Welfare). While earning his degree he worked part-time at a therapeutic pre-school serving neglected and abused children and their families. While earning his Master’s degree at Trinity University Dr. Coulton worked full and part-time, respectively, at residential facilities for child and adolescent psychiatric patients and for autistic children. Also while at Trinity, he conducted research with the now late Social Psychologist Daniel M. Wegner, Ph.D., who held an Endowed Chair at Harvard University. After earning his M.A. Dr. Coulton held clinical and administrative positions at two in-patient facilities in the San Antonio area. As a result of his work experience, Dr. Coulton developed a strong interest in organizational psychology, resulting in him earning a doctorate in Industrial-Organizational Psychology. Dr. Coulton is a member of the American Psychological Association; the Society for Industrial-Organizational Psychology (SIOP); and is a Board Member and Past President of the Texas Association of College Teachers (TACT) and has worked for the Texas A&M University System since 1995.
