Writing Center

The Writing Center will offering all appointment types this semester! All appointments can be scheduled online through JagWire.

  • Online Sessions: Work with a tutor in real-time from any location using voice, video, and chat! Appointments are made and accessed through our online scheduling system. 
  • Etutoring Sessions: Upload an assignment draft and your assignment sheet. You will receive written feedback from a tutor. 
  • Face-to-Face Sessions: These sessions will be provided on a walk-in basis during the hours listed below. We are unable to provide any walk-in sessions for students exhibiting symptoms associated with COVID. Masks will be available for students wishing to have a face-to-face session.

Fall 2021 Hours

Digital Sessions: 

  • Monday: 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. 
  • Tuesday: 10 a.m. - 8 p.m.
  • Wednesday: 1 p.m. - 6 p.m.
  • Thursday: 1 p.m. - 3 p.m. 
  • Friday: 8 a.m. - 1 p.m. 
  • Saturday: 8 a.m. - 1 p.m. 

Walk-in Face-to-Face Sessions: 

  • Tuesday: 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. 
  • Wednesday: 8 a.m. - 10 a.m. 
  • Thursday: 8 a.m. - 1 p.m.

The Jaguar Writing Center provides writing support to graduate and undergraduate students in all three colleges. Writing tutors work with students to develop reading skills, prepare oral presentations, and plan, draft, and revise their written assignments. The Writing Center can be reached by emailing writingcenter@tamusa.edu. Students can also make appointments with the Writing Center under the Student Services tab in JagWire.

Mission Statement 

Our mission is to facilitate a culture of writing at Texas A&M University-San Antonio by providing support to students from all disciplines at any stage of their writing development. Through events, workshops, and a variety of tutorial formats, writing tutors help students at any stage of their writing process in a nonjudgmental setting. The Writing Center is a support system available to all students and faculty of the university.
