The Mays Center for Experiential Learning and Community Engagement helps students prepare for careers and contribute to their communities. Its services connect career development, practical learning experiences, civic engagement and workforce development.

Yes. The Mays Center provides career counseling, job-search guidance and resources for exploring professions and graduate school. Students can also use Focus2, an online career and education planning tool. Visit Career Exploration to learn more.

Schedule an appointment through Handshake using your JagWire credentials. Career-services staff can help you explore career options, prepare your résumé, search for jobs or internships, and practice interviewing.

Internship credit depends on your major and academic department. Some programs require an internship, some offer internship credit as an elective, and others do not award credit for internships. Contact your department before arranging an internship you intend to use toward graduation. Review the internship planning resources.

The Career Closet provides professional clothing for job interviews, graduate-school interviews and qualifying Mays Center events. It serves current students and recent graduates up to two consecutive semesters after graduation. Walk-ins and appointments are accepted, and clothing availability varies. The General’s Store is an emergency food pantry offering free supplemental food to undergraduate and graduate students who meet income eligibility requirements. It is located in Patriots’ Casa, Room 110. Bring your student ID; first-time visitors complete a registration form. Visit The General’s Store for hours and access information.

Yes. The Mays Center provides financial-literacy workshops and one-on-one coaching to help students understand personal finances. Explore the Financial Literacy resource linked from the Mays Center page or contact mays@tamusa.edu for assistance.

Yes. A&M–San Antonio alumni can participate in Mays Center programs and events and access services related to career development, career changes and community involvement. Explore Alumni Services for available opportunities.
