The General's Store

DONATE NOW

The General's Store is an emergency food pantry dedicated to reducing hunger among students by providing nutritious food at no cost. We aim to support our student community with accessible food resources to ensure a healthier and more balanced university experience.

The pantry offers free, supplemental food to all undergraduate and graduate students who meet the income eligibility requirements. Jaguar students can visit the General's Store once a week, up to three times a month. We provide fresh fruits and vegetables based on seasonal availability, as well as frozen produce like fruits and vegetables, and ready-to-eat meals, when available. Our stock also includes non-perishables such as pasta, rice, peanut butter, canned beans, meats, fruits, vegetables, and soups. We also have toiletries and personal hygiene items as supplies allow.

To access the General's Store, Jaguars should scan their Student ID at the check-in table located in front of the General's Store in Patriots’ Casa. New customers must complete a one-time registration/application form via our PantrySoft software. Returning customers should simply scan their Student ID and proceed to shop.

We source most of our food from the San Antonio Food Bank and donations. Availability of products varies, but we strive to offer a range of items while staying within our budget and meeting our customers' basic food needs.

The General's Store relies on volunteers for tasks such as stocking shelves, taking inventory, and assisting clients. Interested volunteers can sign up for shifts through GivePulse.

The General’s Store is located in Patriots’ Casa, RM 110
