Celebrating Transfers is what we do best

Transfer Student Week is a campus-wide celebration, hosted in the Fall and Spring semesters honoring the resilience, achievements, and the unique journeys of our transfer students. We pack the week with events filled with giveaways, free food, and fun! We hope it’s a chance for transfer students to feel connected, seen, and enjoy a week designed just for them.

Transfer Spaces

We offer dedicated spaces on campus where transfer students can study, connect, and relax. These rooms are designed with transfer students in mind—whether you want a quiet place to focus, a spot to meet other transfers, or somewhere to recharge between classes. Check out the “Visit Us” tab to see what amenities we offer in our spaces for our students.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I sign up for orientation?

Our transfer admissions counselors can advise you on how to sign up for orientation, here. If you find yourself having additional questions you can reach out to our Enrollment Services Center at (210)784-1300 for more assistance.

I’m ACCEPTED! Now what?

First, CONGRATULATIONS and welcome into the Jaguar family, we can’t wait to have you be a part of our transfer community! Your next steps will be finding an orientation path that best suits your needs - you can fulfill your orientation requirements by attending an in-person orientation or by completing online modules.

In-Person orientation is a half day experience, that will you lead you through getting a campus tour, your university ID, watching our state mandated videos, meeting with an academic advisor, registering for classes and talking with professionals through your options for how you will be paying for college. This is a great option for those who want to be first-day ready in one, half-day experience, this also benefits those who would prefer to be walked through each step with a professional by their side.

Online Modules are a two hour process of watching a series of videos to fulfill your orientation requirements. Following your modules you will reach out to advising to get registered for classes and meet with the appropriate office if you have questions regarding paying for college. This option benefits those who would like to do this on their own time and are confident completing tasks independently, this option allows students to complete tasks across a longer time period if needed.

Am I considered a transfer student?

Most likely, we have a BIG transfer student population at A&M-SA. A transfer student is a student who attended one institution (post high school) and subsequently transferred to Texas A&M University - San Antonio OR a student of A&M-SA who took more than a year off from their academic journey.

How does the Transfer Center support me?

The Transfer Center prides itself on being a place where transfer students can get connected with campus resources and gain guidance on where to turn for assistance. Sometimes learning all the resources at a new institution can be overwhelming, so we make asking for help, easy. Our staff is knowledgeable of our campus departments and can help point students in the right direction. Our services surpass just advice; we provide student spaces, a mentorship program, an honor society, and offers social events alongside these support systems.
