Eligible students at any of the five Alamo Colleges can seamlessly transfer to Texas A&M-San Antonio to complete a four-year degree.

Starting in Fall 2026, this new partnership between the Alamo Colleges District and Texas A&M University-San Antonio provides incoming students four seamless pathways to earning a two-year and a four-year degree!

There will be four new pathways for Alamo Colleges students to become a Jaguar:

  1. Jag Path
  2. Jag Bound
  3. Promise-to-Promise
  4. Seamless Three-Tier Transfer

The expanded transfer agreement between the Alamo Colleges District (ACD) and A&M-San Antonio (A&M-SA) builds upon an agreement signed in the Fall of 2019 that established a formal transfer partnership between the institutions.

AlamoPROMISE is a program that fully covers the cost of tuition and required fees for new graduates from participating high schools seeking an academic certificate or associate degree at one of the five Alamo Colleges.

About the Pathways

Starting in Fall 2026, students will be able to take advantage of these new exciting pathways!

  • Jag Path Program: This program is for first-year students applying to A&M-SA who may not qualify for direct admission. Students who accept the Jag Path Program offer are dually accepted to one of the Alamo Colleges for the fall term without completing an application to Alamo Colleges. After completion of their first semester, students will take courses at A&M-San Antonio in their spring semester. Upon successfully completing the Jag Path program in year 1, students will be automatically enrolled as full-time Jaguars.
  • Jag Bound: Any student attending one of the Alamo Colleges who have yet to attend another college/university, but have expressed their intention to transfer to A&M-SA by the end of their first term at one of the Alamo Colleges will be considered for the Jag Bound program. They will automatically be admitted to A&M-San Antonio without having to submit an application for admission. As well, they will be eligible to get the Jaguar Promise if they meet all eligibility requirements at the time of entry.
  • Promise-to-Promise: The Promise-to-Promise partnership allows eligible students to start at any of the five Alamo Colleges and then transfer to Texas A&M University-San Antonio’s Jaguar Promise to complete a four-year degree while having educational costs covered at both institutions.

A&M-San Antonio's Jaguar Promise program is a transformational initiative that provides free tuition, fees, and a $300 book stipend per semester for eligible first-year and transfer students.

The Promise-to-Promise partnership will help eligible students save money and reduce the time it takes to complete a bachelor’s degree. Students must qualify for the Alamo Promise and the Jaguar Promise programs at the time of entry into each institution.

The Promise-to-Promise partnership is a testament to our commitment to making higher education accessible for all students!

  • Seamless Three-Tier Transfer Program: For high school students from identified ISDs who complete dual enrollment at one of the Alamo Colleges, earn an Associate of Arts in Teaching or an Associate of Arts/Associate of Science, and are admitted to A&M-SA to finish their Bachelor's Degree in Education, Child Development, or another agreed-upon track.

Testimony

Aubri Lalinde was among the first eligible students admitted to A&M-SA under the newest Promise-to-Promise program. She is a first-generation college student who recently graduated from Palo Alto College with an Associate of Arts in Business Administration.

Lalinde was thrilled when she learned about Promise-to-Promise, a way to further her education and help her and her son build a better future.

“Texas A&M University-San Antonio and our great partners in the Alamo Colleges share a mission of service to students and our community. The Promise-to-Promise partnership is a product of our mutual commitment to opening as many pathways and points of entry for students as possible to put their academic goals within reach,” said Texas A&M University-San Antonio President Salvador Hector Ochoa. “A&M-San Antonio is a place where access meets opportunity, and with the Promise-to-Promise, we’re removing financial and procedural barriers to access so that these students, who come to us so well prepared by our colleagues in the Alamo Colleges, can pursue the educational opportunities that a four-year university has to offer them.”
