1. Complete the International Admissions Application: 
  • Submit your application through Apply Texas.
  • A non-refundable application fee of $50.00 (money order) is required.
2.  Official Transcripts and Credential Evaluation Report:

All international transcripts (high school, college, and university) must be evaluated by a recognized foreign credential evaluation agency (please see below).

The evaluation report must include:

  • Detailed course-by-course description, or you must provide official translated course descriptions
  • Evaluation must be no more than one year old from the date of your application
 
If You Attended a School Outside of the United States:

You are required to submit a Foreign Credential Evaluation Report.

  • Request a recognized foreign credential evaluation agency to evaluate your academic records.
  • Once completed, the evaluation report must be sent directly from the evaluation agency to Undergraduate Admissions.

3. English Proficiency and SAT/ACT Requirements:

*All international students are required to take an English proficiency test unless they qualify for a waiver*

You may qualify for a waiver if:
  • You completed your full secondary or postsecondary education in an approved English-speaking country:
    • American Samoa, Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda, Australia, Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Bermuda, British Virgin Islands, Canada (except Quebec), Cayman Islands, Dominica, Federated States of Micronesia, Gambia, Ghana, Gibraltar, Grenada, Guam, Guyana, Ireland, Jamaica, Liberia, New Zealand, Nigeria, Siant Kitts and Nevis, Santa Lucia, Trinidad-Tobago, Turks and Caicos Islands, and United Kingdom (all).
    • Applicants from Puerto Rico, where Spanish is the primary language, are required to submit an English proficiency test.
  • You have completed at least 12 credit hours with a grade of C or better at:
    • A U.S. institution, or
    • An approved English-speaking country institution.
  • Completion of the advanced-level Texas Intensive English Program (TIEP) offered by the Texas International Education Consortium (TIEC).
Please note: English proficiency waivers are not automatic. All requests are reviewed individually, and applicants may still be required to submit test scores based on their academic background.

4. Meningitis Immunization:

If the applicant is 22 years or less of age is required to submit evidence of vaccination against bacterial Meningitis. Please submit Evidence of Vaccination against Bacterial Meningitis to Secure Medproctor.

5. Additional Admission Requirements

Students may require additional documents or test scores that need to be submitted for admission purposes. Therefore, check with Undergraduate Admissions.

 
6. After Admission (I-20 Process):

Once you are admitted:

  • Once admitted, the Office of International Affairs will contact you with next steps and inform you of the specific documents required for your case. The following is an overview of the documents we typically request after admission. Additional documents may be required depending on your individual situation.
    • Copy of your passport (valid 6 months into the future).
    • You will be required to send a Biographical Form.
    • You will be required to send Proof of Financials.
      • You must send documentation (in English) showing that you have sufficient funds to cover at least one academic year:

        • $40,450 USD – Undergraduate Students
        • $36,777 USD – Graduate Students
        • $45,511 USD – 11-Month MBA Program
          • Important note: The required funding amounts listed above are estimates and may vary depending on your individual circumstances. You will be notified of your specific financial requirement after admission.
             
        • Acceptable Financial Documents:
          • Bank statements.
          • Certified bank letters.

           

          All documents must be:
          • In English (or include an official translation).
          • Clearly show the available balance in U.S. dollars or equivalent.
           
        • Sponsorship:

          If you are being financially supported by a family member, spouse, or other sponsor, you must:

          • Submit a completed Sponsorship Form.
          • Provide your sponsor’s financial documents along with the form.

           

We strongly recommend that you:

  • Review visa appointment wait times at your nearest U.S. Embassy or Consulate.
  • Begin preparing your documents as early as possible.
