Campus CARES Young Jaguars at Texas A&M University San Antonio
Campus CARES (Campus Childcare As Resource Enhancing student-parent Success) Young Jaguars School-age program is an educational Laboratory School committed to creating a safe, healthy, warm, loving environment where children learn and grow at their own pace, and where university students participate in practicum, experiential, and service-learning experiences.
Our mission is to provide an exemplary environment where children, families and university students thrive.
Our Program Philosophy
As an inclusive program, the Young Jaguars classroom environments provide high-quality examples of spaces that are supportive of all children’s needs and interests. The “Plan, Do, Review” process of emergent curriculum such as Reggio Emilia and High Scope, inspires our daily schedules, activities, and materials to help children and families form a deeper connection to the world around them. We want to help children increase their confidence and self-esteem by treating them as respected, unique individuals and allowing them to express their learning in a variety of ways. We are committed to supporting families by maintaining open communication and encouraging family engagement in our policies, programming, and activities.
