1. Student Success: We strive to prepare our students to excel in their chosen profession. 1.1: We strive to deliver educational experiences that ensure our students successfully graduate and attain their desired professional credentials. 1.1.1: Our student graduation rate will exceed the national rates for public colleges with similar student demographics.
1.1.2: More than 80% of our students who are eligible for certification and/or licensure will attempt the certification/licensure process.
1.1.3: More than 80% of our students who are eligible for certification and/or licensure will pass their exam on the first administration.
1.2 We strive to provide excellent support and consistent advising to all current students to ensure steady progress toward the attainment of their degree or certification. 1.2.1: 100% of our professors will be trained and have adequate support materials to provide program-level advising for all current students.
1.3: We strive to deliver educational experiences that ensure our students gain meaningful employment and thrive in their chosen professions. 1.3.1: 90% of our students report that the degree they received furthered their professional goals.
1.3.2: 90% of our alumni will report our educational experiences they received helped them feel prepared to enter the work force.
2: Faculty and Staff Development and Growth: We strive to recruit, foster, and retain high quality faculty and staff across varied backgrounds, experiences, and abilities. 2.1: We strive to recruit, support, and retain a high-performing faculty (tenure track, professional and adjunct) and staff across varied backgrounds, experiences, and abilities. 2.1.1: 80% of all faculty and staff report high levels of job satisfaction.
2.1.2: 80% of faculty and staff will meet or exceed expectations on their annual evaluation rubric.
2.1.4: 100% of our faculty and staff report experiencing a supportive and inclusive climate in our college.
2.2: We strive to provide clarity of roles, responsibilities, and expectations to all our faculty and staff. 2.2.1: 100% of our faculty and staff will attend an onboarding and orientation to the college.
2.2.2: 100% of our faculty and staff who want a faculty mentor will have access to that level of coaching and support.
2.3: We strive to maintain the integrity of curriculum delivery by ensuring the adequacy of resources for maintenance and operation of materials and supplies. 2.3.1: 80% of faculty will report that course relevant equipment and materials is in quality, up-to-date, and working condition.
3. Positive Community Relationships: We strive to actively engage with and have a positive impact in the communities we serve. 3.1: We strive to establish and nurture mutually beneficial partnerships with local schools and community organizations. 3.1.2: Every year 25% of our faculty grant submissions will involve collaboration with community partners.
3.1.3: More than 90% of our community partners will report high levels of satisfaction with our collaborations.
3.2 We strive to actively serve in community or professional organizations important to the mission of our college. 3.2.1: 50% of our faculty and staff will serve in a community organization or professional organization important to the mission of our college.
3.3: We strive, as a Hispanic Serving Institution, to attract and retain students with the potential to contribute to the advancement and well-being of their community. 1.3.1: The number of incoming students in the COEHD will increase by at least 5% each year.
4. Academic Research: We strive to advance the art and science of education and human development. 4.1 We strive to actively support and conduct leading edge research and evaluation in our professional fields. 4.1.1: 80% of our tenured/tenure track faculty will be annually conducting research.
4.1.2: COEHD awarded research funding will increase by 15% in 5 years.
4.2 We strive to demonstrate the impact of our research in advancing our professional practices and scholarly writing. 4.2.1: 50% of our tenured/tenure-track faculty will annually present their research at conferences or to local practitioners.
4.2.1: 100% of students authoring/co-authoring will have access to a mini grant to financially support their presentations at a research conferences.
4.3 We strive to foster innovation in our professional fields. 4.3.1: 100% of the faculty interested in sharing their innovative research will be invited to share their work with the college and university through an on-campus professional development presentation.
