First-Year Seminar First-Year Cording Ceremony

The PROWL Program supports first-year Jaguars through intentional mentorship, career exploration, wellness connections, and community building. Through Peer Leader guidance, students develop academically, professionally, and personally.

PROWL Pathway Scholarship
The Office of First-Year Experience has created a scholarship fund to award students who have been actively part of PROWL and demonstrated growth in their first-year A&M-SA. This is a self-nominated scholarship; however, successful nominees must meet the scholarship requirements.
Applications will close June 30th, 2026.
Applications open April 2026
Earn a C or higher in First-Year Seminar (Fall 2025)
2.5 GPA or higher
Attend at least 2 PROWL activities
Demonstrate personal growth during first year
Submit recommendation form (Faculty, Staff, or Peer Leader)
Selection based on attendance and growth

First-Year Cording Ceremony

Celebrate Your First-Year Success
Students who meet eligibility requirements will be recognized at the First-Year Cording Ceremony with a graduation cord and certificate. This celebration honors your growth, involvement, and commitment throughout your first year at Texas A&M University-San Antonio.

Eligibility

Earn a C or higher in First-Year Seminar and complete at least two PROWL activities.

Recognition

Receive a graduation cord and certificate. Campus-wide nominations will also open for first-year awards.
