In this video, you will learn how to submit
a request for a faculty notification letter or
formally, an LOA.
Once a student application has been
reviewed and the student's accommodations have been approved,
the student will be able to access the AM student portal.
To request faculty notification letters,
visit our website and select faculty notification letter information.
Students who have already been approved for accommodations at
A&M San Antonio for a previous semester must initiate this process each semester.
View the steps below to request your faculty notification letter.
This name replaces the previous name,
Letters of Accommodation or LOA.
To sign in, click "AM".
Then select "Staff and students" sign in.
If prompted, please sign in using Jaguar credentials.
Students are required to sign the student agreement form each semester.
If prompted, review the student agreement form and sign at the bottom of the screen.
After the student agreement is signed,
select the Plus above Add Request for a number of classes.
Select the classes and click Continue to next step.
Select the accommodations.
Select all can be used if all accommodations will be selected.
If accommodations are not needed,
select "I do not need accommodations for the course."
Click, Submit Request. Once submitted,
it will be reviewed by the student's DSS case manager.
FNLs are sent out during the first week of class.
Once approved, the FNL will be sent out
directly through AM to the instructor assigned to the course.
Once the FNL has been processed and emailed to the instructor and student,
a PDF version of the FNL can also be found on the student AM dashboard.
To do this, the student will select
View All request and get PDF under the appropriate class.
Note, if the student adds a course or changes sections after the FNL has been submitted,
don't forget to go back and request
the faculty notification letter for the new course or section.
Please remember that students should still meet with their instructors to review
their accommodation needs and discuss how
they will implement their approved accommodations.
