About the Bachelor of Science in Biology, Concentration in Pre-Health Professions Program
The Pre-Health Professions concentration at Texas A&M University–San Antonio is specifically designed for students pursuing careers in medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, physician assistant studies, veterinary medicine, physical therapy, and other health-related fields. The curriculum builds a strong foundation in the biological and chemical sciences while incorporating courses in Anatomy and Physiology, Animal Nutrition, and Biochemistry—prerequisites commonly required for admission to professional health programs. Students also benefit from guidance through the university’s Health Professions Advisory Committee, which provides personalized advising, mock interviews, and application support to help students navigate the competitive admissions process.
