Welcome to the Early Childhood Program
Explore how young children learn and grow through Early Childhood Education coursework at Texas A&M University–San Antonio. This non-degree area of study addresses development from birth through age eight, including physical, cognitive, language, social, and emotional growth.
Students can explore developmentally appropriate curriculum, early literacy, assessment, and relationships with families. Academic advising can help students identify courses that match their goals and meet prerequisites. Completing individual courses does not independently confer a degree or teacher certification.
Program overview
This program is perfect for students who work with children from birth to age 8 who work in a classroom, child care center, hospital, museum or other community business that involves the care of young children or the management of adults caring for young children. This program seeks to develop advocates for equitable practices in the profession and leaders who desire to transform the lives of the children and adults they serve.
