Steps to Study Abroad

Step 1: Express your interest

Start by contacting the Office of International Affairs to let us know you are interested in studying abroad. Our team can help you explore available programs and answer questions about locations, timing, and academic options.

Step 2: Submit the Study Abroad Application

All students must complete the Study Abroad Application to begin the process.

👉 Contact OIA to receive the application form.

Step 3: Meet with your Academic Advisor

After submitting your application, you must meet with your academic advisor.

Your advisor will help you:

  • Confirm that studying abroad fits within your degree plan

  • Determine how credits will apply to your program

  • Provide guidance on selecting the most appropriate study abroad option

Advisor approval is required before moving forward in the process.

Step 4: Program review and approval

Once your advisor has approved your plan, the Office of International Affairs will review your application and confirm your participation in the program.

Step 5: Prepare for your program

After approval, students will complete several preparation steps, including:

  • Attending a mandatory pre-departure orientation

  • Completing required program forms

  • Reviewing travel and safety information

  • Ensuring you have a valid passport and any required visas

  • Arranging program payments and travel plans

Students will also be enrolled in the appropriate course connected to the study abroad experience.
