Adriana Rojas joined Texas A&M University-San Antonio from UC Merced. During her tenure there, Rojas managed a portfolio of nine departments with a total budget of $85 million, which included serving over 4,100 residential students. She oversaw areas including housing, dining, vending, and retail contracts. Rojas has a track record of creating strong foundations for institutions and enhancing the work culture for her teams.

Prior to joining UC Merced, Rojas served in various roles at the University of Texas at Austin for nearly 25 years. She has broad experience based on her time at UT, having worked in a variety of roles across the campus in central business departments, service units and auxiliary portfolios. Her experience leading business functions across an institution gives her a comprehensive understanding of the financial and operational dynamics that drive a university’s success.

Her educational background includes an executive master’s in public leadership/public affairs from UT Austin and a bachelor’s degree in business administration (accounting) from Texas A&M University.

In her role as CFO, Rojas oversees finance, facilities, and the administrative operations of A&M-San Antonio and serve as a key partner on the president’s cabinet. She is responsible for management and oversight of business and financial affairs, including the execution of the university’s budget, implementing fiscal policies and regulations, and supporting a high-quality service orientation in the Division of Business Affairs.

I joined this university for the opportunity to be part of a new and growing institution serving a diverse population of students. My experience in creating trust and efficiency would allow me to help support an area that lacked stability, structure, and mission.

  • Manage strategy development, systems planning, and change management for a portfolio of over 200 staff and over 400 student employees. Units include Housing, Dining, Residence Education, Cat Card, Transportation and Parking, Hospitality, Early Childhood Education Center, third-party retail, and Auxiliaries Facilities.

  • Managed operating budgets and financial resources for nine units totaling $85M.

  • Performed financial analysis to help units satisfy fiscal responsibility while providing reasonable service costs.
