Are you a former student who had a break in enrollment of more than one year (3 semesters), at A&M-San Antonio? Rejoin the Jaguar family and complete your undergraduate degree by applying today!

Application Process

The application process for Returning students is listed below. If you have any questions about one of the steps, an Admissions Counselor is only a phone call or email away to assist you at any time in your journey!

1. Go to ApplyTexas to create a profile and select the Readmit Undergraduate application to begin the process.

2. Prior to submitting the application, select “fee waiver requested” to process the application for free.

*Fee waivers are only accepted under the Readmit Undergraduate application.

3. Submit official transcripts if you meet either of the following circumstances:
(1) if you have taken college work at another institution since your last enrollment term with A&M-San Antonio
-OR-
(2) if your previously submitted transcripts are older than 5 years. 
Official transcripts must be submitted directly from the college/university.
The university can only accept transfer credits from regionally accredited colleges and universities. 
You may submit transcripts via one of the following methods:
  • Email to admissions@tamusa.edu
  • EDI-Electronic Data Interchange (for Texas Colleges and Universities only)
By mail to:

4. Students who were previously placed on academic dismissal or enforced withdrawal, must also complete the academic reinstatement appeal process to proceed with readmission. Please contact the Office of Admissions with any questions regarding this portion of the application process.
5. Complete the application for financial aid (FAFSA/TASFA). Although this is optional, many scholarships use this as a resource for eligibility. It can be completed prior to readmission to the university. 

*Students on academic dismissal should contact the Office of Financial Aid for information on the Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) Policy*

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I apply to return for any semester?

Yes. Returning students are eligible to apply for any semester. Students needing to submit a reinstatement appeal should verify both the application and appeal deadlines have not passed before applying. 

Do I have to submit my official transcripts even if my last school attended with A&M SA?

Students must submit official transcripts only if their previous transcripts are older than 5 years OR they have attended another college/university since their time at A&M-San Antonio. You may contact the Office of Admissions for questions regarding transcript requirements.

What is the timeline to get a decision?

The timeline to receive an admission decision will vary depending on each student’s application requirements. Admission files are not reviewed until ALL required documents have been received. Students required to submit a reinstatement appeal will not receive a decision until after the appeal deadline (which differs from the application deadline).  

How do I know if I need to submit a reinstatement appeal?

If you are unsure of your last academic standing, please contact the Office of Admissions to connect with our Returning Student Coordinator for guidance on appeal requirements.

How can I see the coursework that I already completed at A&M SA?

If you still have access to JagWire, then you may review Degree Works to see your prior courses and degree plan. Locate the Students tab, then select Classes and Registration and you will see Degree Works listed under the Advising Tools box. 

You may contact the ITS Help Desk at (210) 784-1457 for questions about JagWire access. 

When can I meet with my academic advisor?

All returning students will have a requirement (hold) to meet with an academic advisor once readmitted. If it’s been five or more years since you last attended, we recommend you meet with an advisor before reapplying. Academic Advising can be contacted at (210) 784-1307.

Does my student ID stay the same?

Yes. Your J or K number will remain the same. Please contact the Enrollment Services Center at (210) 784-1300 for help retrieving this information.

Can returning students qualify for the Jaguar Promise?

Jaguar Promise is available to new incoming first year and transfer students that meet the criteria of the program. Returning students are not eligible.

How do I pay for college? And what resources do you offer at A&M-SA?
