Getting started

What's TVC? It's the Texas Veterans Commission website used by all Hazlewood students to track their used hours. You will need to register and create an account with TVC Hazlewood Hours. Initially, your hours report might show as "zero" or "no records found." Be sure to download or screenshot this page for the Hazlewood hours report when submitting your Benefit Request.

Once you have registered for courses and have gathered all of your required documents, you will need to submit a "Benefit Request". This form can be found on your Jagwire portal. Here is what you will need to do:
  1. Once logged in, click the Military Affairs tile on the bottom of the home screen.
  2. Select "Submit benefit request" to open the form
  3. Follow the questions until you get to the document upload page.
Allowed formats for file uploads are Microsoft Word Document, Adobe PDF, JPEG, or text file.  Required uploads are indicated by a red asterisk.

Be sure to submit a benefit request every semester after registering.

Satisfactory Academic Progress

Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) refers to a set of academic standards students must meet to demonstrate they are making adequate progress toward completing their degree. These standards are evaluated at the end of every spring semester for all students. SAP includes GPA limits and all attempted credit hours, even those that have been repeated, withdrawn, or transferred in.

For Hazlewood, SAP includes GPA requirements depending on the student's classification. As determined by the institutions financial aid policy and undergraduate students cannot be considered to have attempted an excessive amount of credit hours.

“Maximum Attempted Credit Hours,” often referred to as Excessive Credit Hours, does not refer to the number of Hazlewood hours you have used. Instead, it refers to the total number of credit hours you have attempted during your undergraduate career. This includes repeated, withdrawn, failed, and transferred courses—even if they do not apply to your current degree plan.

Having excessive attempted credit hours may affect your eligibility to continue using Hazlewood benefits.
